The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest new Supervisor's Office in Rhinelander, Wisc., was re-engineered with "green" features. The use of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding helped complete its restoration. On December 16, 2009, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest hosted a very successful Open House, welcoming the public to the new Supervisor's Office in Rhinelander, WI. Some 300 people toured the building learning about its "green" features and the use of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding that helped complete its restoration.
The partnership with the USDA Forest Service’s Blackwell Job Corps Center (Laona, WI) was also a highlight of the event with students who helped with the restoration on hand to talk about the Job Corps program and their experiences with this 3 year project.
