Last week USDA brought you a series of events and announcements to roll out the Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food initiative (KYF2). Today, we’re excited to bring it all together with a new Website for consumers and producers.

The site pulls together many USDA programs and efforts while offering a portal for visitors to learn new information and join the conversation. On the KYF2 site, you can find a local farmer’s market, discover funding opportunities for food and farming programs or check out the latest videos, photos and blog entries.

Every person has a story to tell or idea to share. We hope that discussions on Facebook, our blog, comments on videos and direct submissions from you will continue to cultivate a renewed interest in agriculture and local foods.

Next week, Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will host the USDA’s first live Facebook chat to talk about the KYF2 initiative and local food systems. Submit your questions in advance or join the live chat if you are able – we look forward to hearing from you soon!
