In our never-ending quest to satisfy the agricultural community’s and general public’s thirst for information, USDA Market News is collaborating with data.gov to add custom reports to our portal websites
USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) collects and publishes a high volume of market information for five major commodity areas. With the addition of the custom reports feature, we are offering tools that will help farmers, ranchers, and businesses be able to manage, sort, and view our data in a more meaningful way. You can drill down and generate tailored historical reports that include only the data points you need and also download it in a variety of standard formats, like XML or plain text.
Over 20 years’ worth of data is available for agriculture products like dairy, cattle, hogs, beef and grains, providing insight into market trends over the last couple of decades. We also report on bio-energy products like ethanol prices and the by-products that are generated from green energy production. You can also create custom reports for pulse crops like peas, beans and lentils.
A relatively new report highlights retail pricing provides additional insight for commodity stakeholders and trend-watchers, and it is being actively searched by site visitors.
USDA Market News has been providing market information on cotton, dairy, livestock and grains, poultry and eggs, and fruits and vegetables for over 90 years. By visiting USDA Market News you can view hundreds of pre-made reports or create a custom report to see only the information you need.
