Want to help feed kids when school gets out? The USDA is hosting a “Help Serve #SummerMeals This Year” Twitter Town Hall this Friday, April 12, 2013 at 3:00 pm EST to inform and inspire organizations across the country to become a summer meal site when school lets out this year.  The Twitter Town Hall will feature USDA Undersecretary Kevin Concannon as well as partner organizations including the Food Research and Action Center, D.C. Hunger Solutions, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, and Food Bank of the Rockies.  Summer meal sites can be almost anywhere including parks, recreation centers, schools, libraries, places of worship, hospitals, and even mobile food trucks. If you have questions like:

Who qualifies to serve summer meals?
Can my organization be a summer meal site?
How can I, as an individual, participate in this program?

Join us for this very important Twitter Town Hall and tweet in your questions and comments throughout the event. Use the hashtag: #summermeals to find and follow the conversation. Please use the #summermeals hashtag in all of your tweets. You can tweet questions, comments, or just follow along. See you tomorrow at 3 pm ET!

  3. Melissa Kio says:

Local farms would need to open their doors, free of charge to kids and people of all ages to LEARN so we can heal our food supply and ourselves ultimately getting closer to LOVE. I pray I get some land soon so I can host a “growing living food” sessions.

  4. Ross Scott says:
