Do you have questions about national conservation or wildlife preservation efforts? Have you ever wondered about the effect of wildfires in our national forests? Wondering how you can give back to the great outdoors? You’re in luck!

USDA Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Environment and Climate Change Robert Bonnie will be hosting a live Virtual Office Hours session on Twitter this Thursday to answer your questions about USDA’s record conservation achievements and efforts to reconnect Americans to the great outdoors.

Join us on Twitter this Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. EDT and tag your questions with #AskUSDA. We will answer as many as we can in one hour from the @USDA Twitter account.

Some questions we hear often that may be on your mind include:

  • What is USDA doing to help create and preserve wildlife habitats across the U.S.?
  • How is USDA using cooperation and partnerships to protect endangered species on farms and ranches?
  • What steps is the Department taking to mitigate future wildfires and is USDA prepared for next season?
  • What changes are we seeing in the forests due to climate change? How will the USDA mitigate these potential changes?

Tweet to us @USDA and use #AskUSDA to send your questions any time, and we will respond during the chat.

USDA Virtual Office Hours, a monthly live question and answer series, allows stakeholders to directly engage with USDA leadership and subject matter experts through Twitter.  November’s session will be the 8th in the #AskUSDA series. See a curated list of previous sessions on our Storify page.
