In honor of National Nutrition Month®, MyPlate is sharing resources to help you bite into a healthy lifestyle everywhere you go! This blog highlights resources for encouraging a healthy lifestyle within your community. Learn about healthy eating at home and at work here.

There are many ways to engage a community in healthy eating! Create a community garden, start a cooking club, offer nutrition classes . . . the list goes on and on. During National Nutrition Month® and throughout the year, find a variety of ways to lead your community into a healthier future with MyPlate.

The MyPlate Community toolkit is a great resource that can encourage families in your community to eat healthy and be active. The toolkit includes discussion guides, activities for children as well as adults, and printable, take-home materials in both English and Spanish. The Ten Tips Nutrition Education series, which covers a variety of healthy eating and physical activity topics, is also available in both English and Spanish. These free resources can be used at health fairs, community classes, or community health clinics.

As a wellness ambassador, inspire leaders in your community to get involved. The Let’s Move! Cities, Towns, and Counties guide and Let’s Move! Faith and Communities toolkit can help you, faith and community leaders, as well as elected officials transform neighborhoods through public engagement and by promoting healthy choices in community settings where people eat, work and play.
